“Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer, but the right answer. Let us not seek to fix the blame for the past. Let us accept our own responsibility for the future.”
John F. Kennedy
It’s amazing the diversity of our country. We have liberal people that may offend us. We have conservative people that may offend us. We have Democrat, Republican, Liberal, Conservative.
Over the last one-hundred years politics have changed quite a bit. Republican and Democrat used to describe the different ways of running a country. Now the names are more than that. Now they describe the ways of running a country, morals, and ethics. They now encompass the words conservative and liberal. That complicates things more. And when in politics, it separates people. Lots of the issues brought up in debates, is stuff to push agendas. For example, I listened to an economist, who talked about global warming. He was saying that we should be using it to our advantage in our industries, not in our politics. Besides, I think there are more important issues to discuss. I think we as a people need to grow up and look past the politics, and toward the problems. And is in the above quote, we need to seek what is right, not what is red or blue. I’m looking at who’s running for president, and we are easily deceived. So instead of getting kicked by the donkey, or not seeing past the elephant’s body, let’s take responsibility for our own choices.
As many of you may know, there was a terrorist attack in Paris on November 13,2015. There were over 160 people killed and several more people wounded. There were over 7 attackers, and the cops killed 5 of them with guns. See, guns aren’t bad all the time. So, after this attack, I thought it appropriate to talk about terrorists, so that is what I’m going to do. Okay, let’s get started. Terrorist…. what does that word mean? Well, according to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, it means, “The systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion.” So, you know coercion means, “To demand in a very violent way.” Which Isis does. So who are terrorists??? Terrorists are just men who think it’s okay to kill people if they don’t believe in the Islam religion. Not everyone who kills people is a terrorist, like people say. So, like I said before, I will try to show you what the Bible says about terrorists. Believe it or not, there were terrorists in the Bible days. Some examples are Goliath the giant, the giant that David killed. The other one is Herod the king. He was the king that ordered all the baby boys killed when Jesus was born. There are many more examples of terrorists in the Bible. So, people back then were dealing with terrorists. Maybe not so many, but none the least, they were still dealing with them. So, people have dealt with that all through the years. They have always been around, so they are not a new problem. The Bible does not say anything specifically about terrorists. It does tell us what to do for them, though; we are to pray for them. You might think, “Are you crazy? Why pray for them??” After all the innocent people they killed and everything else they did, we are to still pray for them. Well, I will tell you why. God told us to on the Sermon on the Mount. His words were pray for your enemy do good to those who persecute who. If you want to read it all, look up Matthew 5. So, that is what we are supposed to do. It is easier said than done. I’m not saying I do it all the time. I try to, but I don’t always do it. So, here is a challenge; try everyday, for about 1 min., just try to pray for all the terrorists. I will try to do it, too. If you have any thoughts on this, feel free to comment.
With God all things are possible.
Gun control! Oh, what a wonderful thing! It will make our streets safer and there will be no more shootings. That is how it will work, right?? WRONG. No, that is not how it will work. The way it will work is the law abiding citizens will turn in their guns, but the bad guys will keep their guns and then there will be more killings and mass shootings by guns. I can tell right now the reason for all these killings is because we live in a sinful world; but, that won’t help us figure out what the Bible has to say about gun control. As a Christian, I will try to show you what the Bible has to say about gun control. Ok, let us start at the beginning. The Bible was written before guns were invented, so you might wonder how can it say something about gun control. It does not say anything specifically about gun control, but it does give us some guidelines to follow. In the beginning of the Bible, there is a story of two guys, Cain and Abel; they were brothers. Cain got mad at Abel because God was not accepting his sacrifice, but was accepting Abel’s sacrifice; so, Cain got to a point of rage that he killed his brother, Abel, with a rock. Guess what? God wasn’t like, “We need rock control,” because “anything” control will not stop killings. The point I’m trying to get across is that it is people killing people, not the gun or rock or whatever people use. According to Jesus’ words from Luke 22:35-38, we should be able to protect and defend ourselves. But, we also need to listen to the government (Romans 13:1-7), but only if the government is making laws according to God’s rules and principles found in the Bible. To prove my point, in the year 2011, there were more people murdered by hammers than guns. Guess what? The government wasn’t like, “We need hammer control.” The only reason they want gun control is so that they can control us, the people. I think the way to solve so many people from getting killed is to allow people to carry guns and not have all these gun free zones. Gun free zones are like a welcome sign to bad guys saying, “We have disarmed everyone for you, so come on in and shoot everybody.” I’m not happy about it, but it is the truth, and sometimes the truth hurts. What I hope you learn from this is that gun control won’t work. Also, that the Bible gives us guidelines for everything we might face in life, even gun control. I would like to also say to all the families out there that have had relatives killed in shootings, that I’m sincerely sorry. Also a thank you to all the service members out there who have fought and are fighting for this great nation.
God Bless Psalms 19, ( The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork).
“Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far.”
“Forgive your enemies, but never forget their names.”

“We live in a society obsessed with public opinion. But leadership has never been about popularity.”
Today, I will be talking about our country’s stance on international affairs. The USA is being walked on by other countries. Read the quote from Theodore Roosevelt again. He isn’t telling us to start wars; he is telling us to protect ourselves. The whole world now knows (Thanks to Mr. Obama) that they can do whatever they want to us. Now look at John F. Kennedy’s quote. He is saying that we need to let other countries have their chance to do their thing, but we need to watch our backs. We failed earlier this year when we let Iran start running their nuclear plants. They did have restrictions on how much they could do, and what they could do, but guess who is checking that they keep to the agreements – Iranian Inspectors. Now look at Marco Rubio’s quote. A lot of the decisions being made in our country are being made because the decision maker wants to look popular. Abraham Lincoln, now looked on as one of the country’s greatest presidents, lost several elections and made decisions that weren’t agreed with. Granted, it started a civil war, but there were questions that needed to be addressed. My closing point is that we as a people need to make decisions that aren’t necessarily popular, but right. And for we who are Christians… With everything that’s happening in the country, the choices we make may be termed Politically Incorrect. So, do what’s right, not just what’s popular.
Learn to do right; seek justice.
Defend the oppressed.
Take up the cause of the fatherless;
plead the case of the widow.
This is just the introduction of what we are going to talk about. We are going to be talking about gun control, the problem with it, and what the Bible says about it. We will also talk about abortion, and how it is murder, and what the Bible has to say about that too. It might be hard to understand, but the Bible has answers and guidelines for every situation we might face. It might not say specifically what we need an answer to, but it gives us some guidelines to follow in making that decision. I believe one of our purposes in life is to bring glory to God, and another purpose is to also try to get other people to become Christians. I will leave it at that and write some later this week. Hope you enjoy.
